Storage Management Admin-Veritas Net backup-GSDC

To provide 2nd level Storage Management services, support and product support for Veritas Netbackup across various accounts. Duties include Provide 2nd level technical support, guidance and direction for products supported. Analyse and resolve or escalated problems. Audit application backup policies and environments to ensure integrity of backup and recovery activities. Participate in the recovery of application environments where required. Ensure integrity of supported environment. Actively and pre-emptively determine possible faults and causes by the execution of pre-determined health and operational checks. Manage and resolve problems identified by sys admins or monitoring software. Analyse and resolve escalated problems within target. Investigate, identify and document proposals that will improve application recoverability. Document and implement changes to technical standards as required. Change and problem management targets are exceeded. Desired Experience 2 years of experience. Has applied knowledge in the administration of windows NT/2000 or Linux systems. Has applied knowledge of Veritas Net backup. Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information. Candidate must be prepared to work within a team on a standby rota for 24x7 support of customer systems. Add disk as needed to existing systems. Allocate shares/storage to new servers as needed. Maintain reports on disk utilization, availability and growth patterns System administration skills in either Solaris or AIX or Unix, plus experience with either Windows or Linux systems. NetApp products like F800 series, FAS900 series , FAS200 series, FAS3000 series, Filer View, Data fabric Manager, SAN Technology like iSCSI, iFCP, FCP. Working knowledge of Filer NDMP backup. Non Technical Skill. Must have excellent team working skills balanced with ability to work alone and a positive attitude. Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information.
