This position is responsible for driving the Architecture initiatives for the entire engineering team across the organization. The position will be reporting to the Sr. Director - R&D in the US and VP & MD in India. Roles Working with the Product team to determine the feasibility of a solution; including, but not limited to:Investigation,Prototyping,Design Documentation. Transitioning architecture and design solutions to Engineering. Ensuring ongoing development initiatives are aligned with current and evolving patterns and practices Providing Product and Engineering with technical expertise as needed, Desired Profile Skills: Distributed computing of large systems / products:J2EE/RMI/CORBA systems Strong Java knowledge a must (Knowledge of C# or C++ preferred )Threading, Serialization, JMS Knowledge of web servers Weblogic/Websphere/Resin) Refactoring and Re-engineering of large systems Performance tuning of large systems Knowledge of Struts / XML/ HTML/, JSP / Servlets Unit test frameworks / automation Strong RDBMS knowledge a must Experience with design tools (Rational Rose) Knowledge of profilers (Purify, JProfiler) Knowledge of SOAP preferred Application security knowledge an added plus Strong ability to quickly grasp technical issues and lead team members to a resolution Ability to define and design system frameworks, both at a system and component level Strong communication skills both at both an individual and team level. 5-7 yrs of experience.
