Operational since 2001, over 250 professionals and hundreds of paid volunteers are engaged in realizing this vision. The Foundation's current outreach is over 20,000 rural government schools (2.5 Million children and 50000 teacgers) in partnership with 9 Indian States. They would ideally be Post Graduates or Graduates in any of the following areas - Social Sciences, Social Work, Education, Management, Economics, Engineering, Science, Journalism or Communication. They should be open to new ideas and experimentation, have effective spoken and written communication skills and be willing to travel. Key Competencies: Vision for quality education, understanding of Indian rural Government education system, ability to build effective relationships, high conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrated track record of mobilizing opinion of the policy makers. Principal Responsibilities: Understand critical areas of change in education, create research and evidence based positions, interact with key influencers, stakeholder and policy makers to mobilize opinion, effectively communicate the role, approach and work of the Foundation and develop and eco system of partners to create a multiplier effect. Location: Bangalore. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and background and will not be a constraint for the right person. In addition, senior members would need to co-ordinate with external research agencies in carrying out projects.
