Advertising Systems charter is to provide solutions to end users, advertisers, and publishers for all aspects of online advertising. This group is a major revenue driver for Yahoo! and produces innovative and cutting edge platforms and products to power the Advertising Marketplace. The Quality Engineering (QE) group partners with Product Management, Development and Operations groups to engineer quality into the Advertising Systems Product suite. We are looking for an Architect to technically drive the Quality Engineering efforts for the Yahoo! Advertising Systems team in India (Bangalore). As an Architect, you will provide Technical leadership to the team. You will help to define and implement the quality strategy for the Advertising System products. This position requires deeper understanding of Technology, Architecture and Design, Implementation approaches, testing strategies (Whitebox, availability, performance, scalability, large scale integration). In essence, you will be responsible for engineering quality into the Advertising Systems product suite. Responsibilities: As an Architect, you will provide technical leadership to the team. You will work closely with Engineering management, Architects, Developers, Quality Engineers, Operations team and Business teams contributing significantly to perform:
o Functional and Non functional Product Requirements review, and coming up with Implementable and Testable requirements
o Architecture and Design Reviews in terms of Functionality, Testability, Performance, Scalability and Reliability
o Evolve strategies for Distributed Testing, Tools, Frameworks, Monitoring, Measurement metrics, etc
You will be the primary stake holder from the Quality team and will be the go-to person for the Product, Development and Operations Engineering teams. You will be responsible for building the technical depth of the quality engineers. You should have an eye for detail, and must be able to work with customer centricity and evangelize sound software quality engineering principles within Yahoo!

Requirements: * Talent and passion for architecting Quality solutions to Engineering problems
* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering degree. * 12+ years of experience in Software development and/or testing with at least 4 years working on a significantly complex product/service. * In-depth understanding of transactional systems, databases, disk/network performance tradeoffs, caching strategies, failover, performance measurements, internet and distributed system architecture. * Active team participant with strong technical and inter personal skills * Ability to work independently and with multiple teams across remote locations, being able to multi-task on multiple products, projects while working with local and offshore teams
* Strong hands-on experience in evolving testing strategies for complex products. * Expertise with object-oriented design, Java and/or C++, PHP and/or PERL. * Ability to present ideas, strategies and designs to management
* Hands on experience with Unix or its variants. * Strong verbal and written communication and coordination skills
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable Experiences/Skills: * Experience architecting a medium complexity product. * Experience optimizing runtime performance and memory size. * Experience with parallel processing, multithreading, and shared memory. * Experience with Apache, HTTP protocol and internet technologies.
* Experience UNIX system programming. * Experience with relational database. Experience: 13 - 19 Years
