Construct and analyse finite element models in support of design / stress architect activities. Calculate internal loads used for aircraft sizing and predict global stiffness to calculate external aircraft loads. Perform non-linear stress analysis, improvement in fatigue methods and development and investigation of repairs. Domain expertise required: Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineer with experience from aircraft industry, Technology expertise required: Strength of materials, aircraft sizing principles, linear and non-linear stress analysis, structure fatigue and repairs.
