Duties and Responsibilities: * Undertake the evaluation, testing, implementation and maintenance of DB2 UDB for LUW software products and services. * Provide professional consultation to management and internal clients on technical issues associated with the DB2 UDB database, and associated software products. * Conduct complex DB2 UDB database systems technical reviews to improve performance, resource utilisation and integrity.
* Provide second tier technical support as required to meet defined service targets. Required to perform overtime activities and on-call support. * Provide technical instruction to other team members. * Specify, design and develop utility programs as required to support to DB2 UDB environment; and consult on their implementation and usage.
* Investigate and resolve problems arising in all aspects of the DB2 UDB environment.
* Investigate, and provide solutions to, technical issues concerning the management and utilisation of UDB software products. * Liase and manage clients satisfaction on technical issues. * Train and share knowledge with team members. Improve the morale of the team during critical situations. * Provide support and guidance to other technical teams around IBM. Desired Candidate Profile: * DB2 UDB for Linux,Unix and Windows (Universal Database) systems programmer/DBA.
* Provide Technical expertise as part of a team of technical specialists controlling and supporting various UDB database environments and software products.
* Comprehensive and expert knowledge of DB2 UDB database architecture and software products, including a detailed knowledge of UDB internals and database recovery techniques.
* Experience of the UNIX operating system and facilities
• Ready to work in 24x7 shift timings.
